As an important part of the public welfare industry, foundations in China took the initiative to act quickly in the face of the sudden COVID-19 pandemic, and made positive contributions to achieve important periodic results in the prevention and control of domestic epidemics. At the same time, due to the impact of the pandemic, both the uncertainty and challenges of foundation industry’s development environment are increasing rapidly.
In order to implement the decisions and deployment of the Party Central Committee and the State Council, to profoundly understand the new major changes in the developments of domestic and foreign pandemic and economies, to effectively respond to the negative impact of the pandemic, and to play an important role of social organizations appropriately in promoting the modernization of the national governance system and capabilities, as a responsible member of China foundation industry, we issue the following initiatives:
1. Keep in mind our original intention and train key ability persistently. Clarify the foundation's own position and mission, do a good job in internal construction, identify the intersection of vision, capabilities and resources, make good use of new technologies, learn advanced experience at home and abroad, and carry out work professionally and efficiently.
2. Implement the Charity Law of the People's Republic of China and its supporting regulations. Perform legal obligations, fight for legitimate rights and interests, and improve the ability to do good in accordance with the law.
3. Pay attention to risk management and make response plan in advance. Facing the difficulties that the pandemic may cause, make full preparations to enhance the ability to respond to emergencies and maintain sustainable development of the organization.
4. Be a warm partner. Listen to the voices of cooperative partners, respond to new needs in the normalization of pandemic prevention and control in a timely manner, and increase the flexibility of projects under the premise of legal compliance to build good partnerships.
5. Enhance communication and collaboration with government departments. Participate in industry research, reflect industry demands, promote more policies supporting social organization development, and strengthen confidence of social organization development.
6. Enhance interaction with the public and media. Make good use of donations, be open and transparent, win the trust and support of donors, increase public understanding of charity, and enhance the credibility of the foundation industry.
