As the world continues to grapple with the COVID-19 pandemic, we would like to extend our best wishes for the well being of you and your loved ones. Our sincerest appreciation and utmost respect go out to the healthcare workers and service providers who work tirelessly to save lives everyday while risking their own. Everyone is doing his or her part by practicing social distancing, hand washing and mask wearing. We are all in this together.
In the wake of the pandemic, Shanghai Roots & Shoots has made some adjustments to our programs in response to the government’s call to fight COVID-19.
In addition, we have launched a series of live broadcasting shows all the way through till June. (Follow us on weibo @上海根与芽 and you will get notifications before the broadcast.)
Remember, even though we are not able to see you face-to-face, we remain accessible through all contactless channels, such as email, phone calls, wechat and weibo. Let us know if you have any questions or concerns.
Thank you for your support and understanding. We look forward to getting together with you in the not too distant future.!
Best,
Shanghai Roots & Shoots

Although this year’s Inner Mongolia tree planting trips are cancelled due to the pandemic, program updates as well as the 2019 Annual Report are readily available. In addition to regular forest investigations, a summary survey was conducted on one of the first forests planted (2008-2009 site). This survey gives information standing timber data, canopy density, biodiversity and soil nutrient contents. The results show that the forest site not only meets the FAO criteria, but also plays a positive role in stabilizing the sand and restoring the ecosystem.
